COMMUNITY HIGHLIGHTS
Celebrating the people who make our community special
Founded in 2002 by Nick Szymanis, with the support of his wife Oona Craig, Debate Camp began as a small, family-run program in Halifax. Over the years, it has grown to more than 20 locations across North America, engaging thousands of campers and staff who have gone on to careers in law, education, journalism, science, and beyond. While our reach has expanded, our foundation remains the same: a close-knit community that stays connected to its alumni, supports growth from camper to staff to leadership, and welcomes families who have been part of our story for years. Scroll down to explore our timeline and the people and moments that define Debate Camp’s history.
